Course Overview
In partnership with the Safety in Schools Foundation of Canada and AMTA, Introduction to Automotive Shop Safety is an online course aimed at providing workers entering the automotive repair industry with a basic understanding of the common hazards found in automotive shops, employer and employee responsibilities regarding safety and more.
The course centers around a case study of a 17-year-old employee severely injured working in a retail automotive shop. The case study includes a filmed interview with the OH&S investigator who led the investigation.
The course is recommended for any young person considering working in a commercial or retail automotive shop and is available to all AMTA members.
